Keymoves is our beautiful refuge for women aged 16+ who have experienced gender-based violence including domestic abuse, forced marriage, honour-based violence and coercive control.
The refuge is located in the North East of the city and the service also has an additional 10 flats city-wide.
The refuge is staffed by a team of practitioners 24 hours a day and access to the building is controlled.
We recognise each of the women’s journey’s are unique and therefore require a tailored support plan to meet each women’s needs.
Whilst living at Keymoves, women have their own keyworker offering one-to-one support. There are also various group activities and support sessions that provide women with the skills and confidence they need to move on to a more secure and happy future.
Our staff and external organisations deliver group activities and courses within the building and in nearby community venues; with anything from gardening to yoga to trauma recovery groups.
We also have visiting specialists who can offer housing and benefit advice, life coaching and mentoring.
