Our Visiting Support service offers support to people in the South West and North West of Edinburgh who have issues that might lead to homelessness as well as help people transition from homelessness to their own home.
The team offer person centred support and help people deal with issues such as rent arrears and housing issues and accessing and maximising benefits and grants. Additionally, the team can make referrals to many other services who can help and support in other areas.
We support people living in the City of Edinburgh Council shared houses while they wait for permanent accommodation. We provide housing and benefits advice; referrals to other support services; or support to find social activity groups, educational courses, or employability services.
The team also provide assistance with registering for health services or refer to social work for assessment if there are longer-term needs.
You can self-refer by getting in contact with us or attending one of our drop-in support sessions.
Supporting organisations can also complete a referral form on behalf of a person if consent has been obtained.
We are committed to providing high-quality support to individuals and families, adopting a holistic and person-centred approach.
We work in partnership with the people we support, usually initially focusing on any immediate issues for homelessness prevention and then continuing to support people to build prosperous lives in their community.
