Request a free furniture collection

Your generous furniture donations help us support people experiencing homelessness.

We offer a free uplift service in Edinburgh & Mid/West Lothian for bulky items that don’t fit in your car, or if you have numerous items.

We accept a wide variety of goods:

Soft furnishings: sofas, armchairs, mattresses – must have fire safety label
Household furniture: beds, tables etc
Large appliances: fridges, cookers, washing machines (not tumble dryers)

For smaller donations, you can drop off at our donation centre 454 Gorgie Road, EH11 2RN

Small electrical appliances: microwaves, kettles, irons, coffee machines, hairdryers
Homeware including crockery, pictures, glasses & bric a brac
TVs, DVD players & stereo systems

How donations help

Your donation help us to provide a beautiful home in a safe and secure environment as well as meaningful work to those experiencing homelessness and who perhaps feel there is no place for them in their community.

Providing crucial support

Four Square aim to provide more than a home as often people need support, confidence and skills to support their independence. We therefore provide emergency accommodation, support & advise services, employability & learning programs as well as two social enterprises.

We need your help

We cannot do this alone. There are many different ways in which you can play a part in ending homelessness in Edinburgh and help people develop skills to lead independent successful lives.

Case Study

Your donation can help people like Irene.

Irene lived with her partner for 35 years, putting up with his physical and coercive abuse. When she was ready and able to leave her situation, Four Square were able to support her by holding a space for her in our women’s refuge for a week – enabling Irene to leave the abusive relationship at a safe time. Staying at the refuge for a few months allowed Irene to feel safe and secure and allowed her to finally relax.

When she was ready, Irene moved onto one of our flat where she had her own space but also 24/7 support. She learned about budgeting and also volunteered in our charity re-use shop for a little while. Irene also attended a course where she gained crucial skills for a brighter future – including how to keep herself safe as well as being confident in setting boundaries. She was finally able to see that she was worthy and deserved so much more. Within 2 years, Irene had her own flat and a job as well as good relationships with her family.

Social Enterprise

EFI & CAFÉ

Visit our EFI store to purchase quality preloved furniture. Buying from us supports our charity, helps the environment & gives others a chance to have beautiful homes too.

Please also consider donating your preloved items to us.

Proceeds from our newly opened Four Square Park Café fund work placements for young people looking to develop their hospitality skills. The café also provides volunteering & training opportunities.
